Hi! I’m Erika, a Mexican storyboard artist, filmmaker, and character designer based in Los Angeles.

I’ve been making up stories for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was four years old, I filled notebooks with homemade comics and asked my parents to read them to me before bed. Since then, I’ve never stopped creating worlds about oddballs, magic, and lovable troublemakers.

I love telling heartfelt, comedy-driven stories about charming underdogs whose adventures leave people feeling happier, more hopeful, and maybe even a little inspired.

Growing up surrounded by Mexico’s rich folklore sparked my love for fantasy, witches, and the idea that a little bit of magic can exist in everyday life.

If one of my stories makes someone laugh, feel a little more hopeful, or believe in magic for a moment, then I’ve done my job.

Before earning my BFA in Character Animation at CalArts, I worked in Mexico as lead character designer on Cartoon Network LATAM’s Rey Mysterio and as lead concept artist for video games at INOMA Studio.

When I’m not drawing, I’m probably hunting for the best bubble tea, collecting dolls and toys, watching alien conspiracy videos, or cheering for my favorite queens on RuPaul’s Drag Race.
